NAIA & JUCO eligibility — and how they compare to the NCAA
The NCAA isn’t the only path to college sports. The NAIA and NJCAA (junior college) have their own — and more open — academic bars. Here’s how each works for an incoming freshman, with a free self-check for the NAIA standard.
The three academic bars, highest to most open

Use your SAT total out of 1600 (your two section scores added together). A final GPA of 2.30+ qualifies on its own; otherwise you need 2 of the 3 benchmarks above. This is guidance — the NAIA Eligibility Center makes the official ruling.
JUCO (NJCAA) athletic aid by division
Junior college is the most open path — a high-school diploma or GED is the bar to compete. What differs is how much athletic money a division can offer.
Full athletic aid: tuition + course fees, room & board, books, up to $250/yr in required supplies, and transportation once per year to/from college.
Partial: tuition + course fees, books, and up to $250/yr in supplies. No room & board.
No athletic scholarship or aid of any kind.
